Fundraising Applications:

We currently have three ways to raise money for our partner Non-Profits. We are continuously adding fundraising applications. Please send us any ideas you have, ideas@benefeast.com.

The first is a direct donation of money to a partner Non-Profit. This is nothing fancy or complicated.

The second is the benefeast. A benefeast is a dinner for eight people at a restaurant. To attend a benefeast, a member makes a donation of $10 to one of our partner Non-Profits. There are two types of benefeasts, public and premier. Public benefeasts are created by our members (individuals or Non-Profits). The creator can either invite friends to join, or he can list his benefeast on the site and allow anyone to attend. The creator can specify the Non-Profit the benefeast is to support, or he can leave it open to the attendants to choose which Non-Profits their individual contributions will benefit. Premier benefeasts, on the other hand, are created by our company and are meant to introduce our members to other ethically minded individuals. When signing up for a premier benefeast, members: choose which Non-Profit their fee will support; answer a few compatibility questions; and choose whether or not to bring a friend along too. We then create a dinner for eight people of similar age and equal gender ratio (four men, four women). Premier benefeasts are not explicitly about dating, but, as the great Lauren McMahon would say, “sometimes you can’t stop the magic.”

The third fundraising application is the Benefeast Bazaar. This is an online marketplace feature, but rather than the money going to the seller, the money goes to the Non-Profit of the seller’s choice. Sellers can choose whether they prefer to ship the item or have the buyer pick it up. Why buy on other sites where the money goes to a stranger, when you can buy on the Benefeast Bazaar where the money goes to charity?
